Lord only knows when the site finally got some content but there was a new trailer for Wall•E that aired during the Super Bowl. Build-a-bot and games coming soon. There are some very Mac ad inspired wallpapers for your desktop enjoyment.
Wall•E is Pixar's new feature animated film that's coming out this summer about a sanitation robot (and his pet cockroach) left alone on an ecologically destroyed Earth for 700 years.
I've always liked the Pixar films (to varying degrees) even before I was a parent (I still think Cars is the best one to date followed by Monsters Inc. Sorry Ratatouille). Needless to say I'm really excited about Pixar's first Sci-fi film.
I was disappointed in the new trailer, which makes sense since it was a Super Bowl ad. Oh burn...yeah I said it. I was looking for a few more scenes from the film or perhaps glimpses of other characters. But in the end beggars can't be choosers. You can check out the first two teaser trailers on film's site and even download them for your iPod and or your PSP (the first teaser only).
I did find it strange that Buzz and Woody made an appearance in the Wall•E ad and thought that they had mention the tried and true franchise to pump up the new film. This is until I found out that Pixar is working on Toy Story 3 tentatively scheduled for a June 2010 release
If Mr. Bean had a love child with Wile E. Coyote it would be Bernard the Bear. Bernard stars in a series of shorts from Spanish animation studio BRB.
Bernard is made up of equal parts Mr. Bean's social ineptitude and Wile E. Coyote's physical slapstick. He is self centered, petty and can always make a situation worse. Certainly not a childhood role model but most of the time he gets his comeuppance for his less than shining behavior. I think that's where the underlying message is, what goes around comes around.
Moral soap boxing aside, I have not laughed out loud at a cartoon like this since the classic WB's. Also another aspect about Bernard I like is the subtle actions and
facial expressions for the characters. It shows the strength of the
animators when they can convey so much emotion with no dialog. And finally there is something that appeals to my inner child me about an animated character being physically injured so often. Bernard could certainly give Homer Simpson a run for his money.
You can see more Bernard on Veoh.
Thanks to momps for telling me about this.
If you've missed it, here is the five part animated series for the forth coming PS3 game Heavenly Sword.
It was animated by Ben Hibon.
I wonder if these 5 shorts are going to be better than the game? Kind of like how the Cartoon Network's Star Wars: Clone Wars was better than the last three Star Wars films put together.
This coming season of Doctor Who will be bringing the Doctor to the animated world. On the Doctor Who spin off show Totally Doctor Who, there will be an animated serial over the 13 episodes of Totally. It's the cast from the live action show so it's pretty cool.
I caught My Goldfish is Evil this weekend with Ethan. I think he thought it was an evil Nemo. But it's cute and like all Canadian animation there is a line or two in it that just crack me up.
Also some guys I used to work with worked on the show.
